Lisa Marasso, Sculpture and Installation
Lisa (Prettol) Marasso occupies one of the Verge studios to create her work, a mix of drawing and sculpture, often assigning sentimental imagery to discarded materials. Driven by themes of the decorative and embellished, she both revels in and rejects their value. After earning a BA in Art with a Minor in Women's Studies, she received an MFA in Art Studio from the University of California Davis in 2005, followed by a year long studio residency at the Headlands Center for the Arts in Sausalito, CA. Her work has been exhibited widely, recently at New Mexico University, Johansson Projects in Oakland CA, and the San Jose Museum of Art. Currently Marasso teaches drawing and sculpture at Sierra College.
