Yelena Martynovskaya currently lives and works in Sacramento, California.  She was born in Uzbekistan to Russian parents and immigrated to California in 1993 with her family.  A recent MA graduate from CSU, Sacramento, Yelena’s work primarily consists of painting where she investigates interaction of events and forms around her through color fields and image compositions.   Her imagery is derived from the past and the present, where the personal history continues to be remade at every moment in the present with the memories, senses, feelings, and images of that time.
